Recipients of the MTM Driving Transformational Change Grants
In early 2020, before the world changed with the arrival of COVID-19, MTM Services announced the Driving Transformational Change Grant for organizations committed to change, but unsure how to achieve it … and for those in need of focused consulting support, but unable to afford it. Once COVID arrived, we recalibrated, increased the number of recipients from three to five and focused our efforts to complement the National Council’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
We received 107 applications from across the country — from organizations of every size and providing a broad array of services. While we wish we could provide pro bono support to each and every one of them, we have selected five organizations to receive consulting services as part of the Transformational Change Grant.
Alum Rock Counseling Center (San Jose, CA) has tried to implement Just In Time Prescriber Scheduling on its own, but has not been able to make it work, yet. Working with the MTM team, they will learn how to build the system that will allow them to move the consumer from diagnostic assessment to psychiatric evaluation within 3-5 days while increasing engagement, reducing no-shows and generating positive clinical and financial results.
Community Counseling Center (Hermitage, PA) is working to help its service providers manage nonbillable but essential tasks associated with documentation of mental health and substance use disorder treatment. With the goal of making effective use of Collaborative Documentation the norm, MTM will train the team to document the clinical record with consumer participation in the process, resulting in improved client engagement, reduced no/show cancellations, improved medication adherence and enhanced quality of clinician work life.
Community Guidance Center (Indiana, PA) is launching a strategic planning process to map out the future of care under the leadership of the new CEO. In short, they are on the cusp of transformational change. MTM will provide Cost Finding Analysis to help manage, drive direct the change process to maximize the outcomes.
East Texas Behavioral Healthcare Network (Lufkin, TX) is planning for the future and knows that accurate, detailed Cost Finding Analysis is essential to effective decision-making. MTM will work with ETBHN to generate true cost-versus-revenue comparison by position type and CPT/HCPCS code to maximize efficiencies while fostering a culture of excellence.
Western Montana Mental Health Center (Missoula, MT) covers 48,000 square miles and faces challenges as a rural health care provider operating in the midst of widespread workforce shortages, and so maximizing provider time is essential. After attempting to implement Just In Time Prescriber Scheduling on their own, MTM will work with WMMHC to adopt best practices for optimizing provider time and reducing no-show rates.
At MTM, our mission is to help those who help others. We are thrilled to be able to work with these five organizations and hope our combined efforts will make a difference in the lives of many.
